Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Do you really have the experience to provide state-of-the-art eMedia solutions?

Our key personnel have many years of experience designing, managing, and developing custom eMedia solutions for government, military, commercial, and nuclear energy clients.  We have managed multi-million dollar projects producing 100s of hours of custom eLearning courseware.

What are your technical qualifications?

We are truly experts in: digital video, e-Learning, SCORM, MOODLE LMS, Articulate (Presenter, Engage, and Quizmaker), audio processing, interactive multimedia integration, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML, multi-lingual presentations/learning (former Russian linguist for the US Air Force), nuclear energy (former nuclear engineer on Navy aircraft carrier and instructional designer for nuclear power industry), marketing (former director of business development), and mobile media.

How can I be assured of the quality of your products and services?

Check our references (provided after we have a better understanding of your requirements and can refer you to others for whom we've performed similar services). Also, any contract with us specifies deliverables, dates, and frequent in-process reviews.  We are committed to complete customer satisfaction with all aspects of our business relationship. And, we guarantee our work for one full year after delivery (we will correct any errors/omissions in our work for free!).

Project Size

Can you handle large projects?

It depends on what you mean by "large".  A $1 million/year project - no problem.  A $10 million /year project - no. If required, we have relationships with many other eMedia and subject matter experts, and will bring them onboard to help with the project on either a full-time or part-time basis.

How much do you charge?

It depends on how much you want us to do! One of our strengths is designing a production process and schedule that optimizes cost-effectiveness. Some clients want to do as much of the work as possible themselves, so we charge a reduced price and focus on the pieces of work where they need help.  Others want to outsource as much as possible, so we do everything.

Here are three samples to give you an idea of our rates:

  • Convert 10 hours of DVD video to online SCORM-compliant e-Learning: $20,000 (e.g. $2,000 per hour of video)

  • Convert 10 hours of DVD video to online e-Learning accessible by PCs, iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad, Android, Blackberry, PocketPc, and others: $40,000 (e.g. $2,000 per hour of video, + $500 per hour of video for each of the 4 different versions required to provide optimized access for most mobile devices).

  • Add professional narration to a 50-slide, 1-hour PowerPoint presentation, add custom animations, synchronize custom animations with audio, publish through Articulate Presenter to convert to a SCORM-compliant e-Learning lesson, and convert for accessibility by iPhone/iPod Touch: $3,000.

Do I have to pay you any ongoing fees after the solution is delivered?

No - we perform all work as "work-for-hire".  That means you own the finished product and can do whatever you want with it. You can install it on your web server, or pay us to host it for you. By the way, all of our solutions can be hosted on virtually any web server with no special software/drivers.

What type of contract do you typically use?

Normally, we use "firm fixed-price" contracts, with deliverables, reviews, meetings, status reports, and quality/performance standards specified. You have the option to immediately suspend/terminate the contract at any time, for any reason, and pay only for the portion of the work completed and delivered. We can also do "time and materials" contracts, if appropriate - normally these have set per-hour rates per labor category, and you pay us based on the number of hours we work (normally used for consulting and live training/instruction).

Production/Conversion Time

How long does it take to convert existing media to an optimized online multi-device solution?

It depends on your needs.  If you need it very quickly, we may have to add a surchare (typically 25%) to pay our people overtime.  Basically, we customize the schedule to fit your needs.  Here are a few examples:

   • Convert a one-hour video or PowerPoint presentation: typically 2 weeks.

   • Convert 10 hours of video/PowerPoint: typically 3 months (can be done in 2 months if needed).

   • Convert 100 hours of video/PowerPoint: typically 12-18 months.
